Rugby can be an interesting game!
Going into the contest between University and Harbour, a tight contest was expected. With Harbour leading the competition and University sitting in fourth place on the table, this match was meant to go down to the wire and be decided in the last minutes of the game. University obviously had other plans as they ran away with the game in the last 30 minutes running out 53 – 0 winners after leading 17 – 0 at halftime at the University Oval.
At Miller Park, Green Island defended the Speight’s Challenge Shield with a 36 to 20 victory over Southern while Taieri posted 54 points in beating Zingari-Richmond at Montecillo. The biggest victory of the day in Dunedin was at Bishopscourt where Kaikorai demolished Alhambra Union 70 – 14.
