Game Day.
Well that was a wet afternoon! I was at Watson park where after 180 minutes of rugby (including that 100 minute final from last year) only three points separate the clubs with University winning 19 – 16 in wet and slippery conditions.
There’s always a round or two in club rugby that throws up some intriguing games and this is certainly one of them. Starting in Balcutha, Blair Young plays his 250th game for the Heriot club which is an outstanding effort having first played for the side in 2001. Closer to town Green Island defeated Southern at Bathgate Park, University defeated Harbour in a replay of last years final while Kaikorai beat Alhambra Union and Taieri recorded a win over Zingari Richmond.
