Around the grounds this afternoon in Dunedin club rugby with some interesting and surprising score lines as the final scores were posted. At Logan Park, Green Island walked away with the Speight’s Challenge shield after posting 48 points against University to win 48 to 29. Nearby at the North Ground, Alhambra Union also scored 40 plus points in their first game of the season to defeat Southern 41 to 14 while Taieri took out the Henderson Memorial with a 43 to 20 victory over Harbour. At Bishopscourt Kaikorai clamied a 37 to 12 win over Zingari Richmond in a match that wasn’t secure until the last 15 minutes. Despite being down by 20 points at one stage, Zingari Richmond never seemed out of the contest until the pressure from Kaikorai started to take it’s toll late in the game.
