Around the grounds in premier matches this afternoon, at Outram Clutha prop Phil Keighley celebrated his 300th appearance for the club with an away match against West Taieri. At West Taieri dominated the first half scoring going into halftime with a 21 to 0 lead. In the second half, tries to the Clutha side made the scores close with 15 minutes to play. In the final ten minutes a late West Taieri try and then a penalty gave West Taieri a 29 to 20 win.

In the Dunedin Premier competition this afternoon Green Island won the Speight’s Jog, The Speight’s Challenge Shield and the Ken St Clair-Newman trophies with a 35 to 12 win over Kaikorai at Miller Park. Otago University were 38 to 10 victors over Alhambra Union, Southern defeated Harbour 14 to 9 while at Peter Johnson Park Taieri were 22 to 3 winners over Dunedin.
