Well, the Highlanders went down last night under the roof at Forsyth Barr Stadium in extra-time thanks to a Damian McKenzie penalty. The loss now means the Highlanders home record is looking fairly average with the side now having lost 5 matches in a row. Actually, the Highlanders last victory at home was a 28 – 27 win over the Chiefs on Saturday 13th June 2020. Since then, they finished the season at home last year with losses to the Crusaders and the Blues while this year they have gone down to the Crusaders, the Hurricanes and now the Chiefs.
On a brighter note the Premier Women’s grade kicked off yesterday here in Dunedin with the Waitaki Wahine beating Green Island 22 to 0 while Big River Country from Balclutha got a first up win over the Pirates Wahine 36 to 33. So, before you head out to enjoy the sunshine here’s a few more images for you to enjoy.
