Game Day.
An early start on Saturday morning is pretty typical for a lot of house holds in New Zealand. Kids are up, excited and ready for the game they’ve been looking forward to all week. While some families will have a short drive across town, others in the country will have a longer trip to make in often chilli conditions to make the 9am gathering time. Later in the day, after the junior clubs have finished and the player of the day awards are announced, the older kids take over and the day will finish with the men’s and women’s grades. What all these teams, across all these grades will have in common is the anticipation, excitement and expectation that game day brings. For most players, game day is simply for the love of the game.
